Good morning Lord Jesus, this morning I focus on you so I have a chance to live out a day less focused on me.
“Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged severely. The soldiers braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they clothed him in a purple robe. They came up to him again and again and said, “Hail, king of the Jews!” And they struck him repeatedly in the face.
Again Pilate went out and said to the Jewish leaders, “Look, I am bringing him out to you, so that you may know that I find no reason for an accusation against him.” So Jesus came outside, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Look, here is the man!” When the chief priests and their officers saw him, they shouted out, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” (John 19:1-16)
This morning I read The Gospel of John chapter 19. And then I watched and listened to one of my favorite Theologian of today NT Wright’s devotion taken from this same chapter, John 19. I watched it during Lent, and it speaks beautifully into our reading this morning. It was wonderful. So instead of sharing a reflection of mine I am sharing his reflection for you to watch, listen and reflect on. Here is the link to the short, 6 minute Youtube video of his reflection.
My family, I pray after watching this video you will be moved in your heart as you are reminded that in Jesus “Here is the man” who was born to serve, suffer and love you and I like no other human being ever has, or ever will that walked this earth, in Jesus name. Please pray the same for me. God bless you my friends!
